Composite rebars is a construction material that has slowly been gaining traction through its use in infrastructure projects including reservoirs, floors even, highway bridges in the past few years.
Concrete is brittle and has a low tensile strength and it needs additional reinforcing, commonly steel reinforcement bars, or rebar, are used. However, composite rebar has a number of advantages over steel rebar including durability, cost and maintenance over time. Steel rebars corrode and swell over time resulting in cracking or spalling of the concrete structures.
